Course: Spring 2024 Enter the Matrix - Textiles (Pratt)

This elective explores the fundamentals of textile design by way of weaving. Using some simple (and some not so simple) frame looms, yarns, as well as recycled materials, we created a series of plain weaves, twills, tweeds, herringbones, linos, cane weaves, Queen Victoria weaves, and some of our own invention. Through this, we investigate color, texture, scale, and pattern, as well as how we can be more informed about the soft finishes of the interior.
