This analysis of the Beinecke Rare Book Library helps to understand the atmospheric conditions within the space. The physical properties, choice, and assembly of materials reveal how the ambient qualities are achieved, as well as types of lighting and adaptive lighting strategies. Not only do we understand aesthetic choices, but also functional choices that protect the central aspect of the space, the rare book collection.
